The holiday season is in full gear now! I enjoy gift-giving and thinking of things that the people in my life will enjoy and use. I love cooking for other people and I think it is a great way to show your love and care for them. Food gifts can be an easy and inexpensive way to acknowledge someone at the holidays. Here are some that I enjoy!
Custom spice blends: I like to have a few little gifts on hand during the holidays in case someone invites me to their home or stops by unexpectedly. I can spend a few dollars on spices at the grocery store, mix them up into a blend I like and package it into a few small jars. These make ready-to-go gifts that give a little taste of my kitchen to someone else. Taco Seasoning is one of my favorites!
A sweet treat: Dropping a sweet treat by your friends’ home or workplace is a great way to show you’re thinking about them. These treats are crowd-pleasers that travel well.
- Pumpkin Apple Cake is moist and delicious.
- Cranberry Oatmeal Bars are chewy and speckled with red cranberries.
- Apple Cinnamon Bread is delicious for a snack, dessert or breakfast.

A cozy meal: Inviting friends around during the holidays does not have to be fancy or expensive. A big pot of soup and a loaf of bread make for a delicious and festive meal. In place of a gift, invite your friends for dinner and try one of these delicious soups.
- Chicken and Rice Soup is my all-time favorite soup.
- Pasta Fagioli Soup is rich with Italian flavors and makes the house smell great.
- Loaded Potato Soup is a creamy classic.
No-Knead Whole Wheat Bread and Golden Corn Bread make great sides for these soups.
Enjoy the holiday season!
