Homemade breads and sourdough recipes are making a big comeback. If you are like me, you’ve probably watched countless videos or read blogs from people sharing how easy it is to make bread from scratch.
I consider myself to be a pretty good cook and baker at home, but homemade bread? It intimidates me! I have tried a few bread recipes in the past that just haven’t worked for me- the dough was too sticky, didn’t rise properly, and left me with a pile of dirty dishes and wasted ingredients. Anything I need to “feed” or name, (besides my kids!) feels like a big task during this busy season.
Still, I love homemade bread, especially in the fall and winter, so I started searching for bread recipes that are simple, reliable and don’t require extra steps I might forget. When my kids are older, I will give sourdough and rustic bread another shot, but for now I am sticking with these tried-and-true favorites 😊
Sweeter breads- These are great options for an after-school snack or dessert. Pair it with eggs or extra fruit for a quick breakfast.
Savory breads- Great for sandwiches or served alongside your favorite soups.
