I’m disappointed/dismayed/disgusted that boneless lean beef trimmings are being driven off the grocery shelves.  The result is likely to be higher priced hamburger, protein wasted that could be used for  human consumption, less innovation, several thousand people losing their jobs, and a bankrupt company.

Do you ever crave take-out food? When I was in college I used to order take-out at least once a week – sandwiches, pizza, or Asian. It tasted so good and it was convenient. Unfortunately, now I live in a small town and my take out choices are almost non-existent. When I first heard of canned beef I really did not know what to think. There was a fat layer on the top when I opened the can and a lot of liquid, but the texture and smell of the meat were normal for beef. I ended up enjoying it and adding it to some of my recipes as an easy and money-saving alternative to cooking with fresh beef.
