Ingredients
- 2 cups oats (old fashioned or quick cooking)
- 1/2 cup mix-ins (chia seeds, shredded coconut, dried fruit, flax seeds, nuts, pepitas, sunflower seed kernels)
- 2 tablespoons oil (canola or vegetable)
- 1/2 cup honey, maple syrup, or pancake syrup
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300° Fahrenheit. Spray a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, stir together oats and mix-ins.
- Stir oil and honey or syrup into the oats until the oats are completely coated.
- Stir water into the oats until absorbed by the oats.
- Spread oat mixture evenly across the baking sheet.
- Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until golden brown. Stir and break up clumps every 15 to 20 minutes.
- Cool completely on the baking sheet. Store in an airtight container.
Tips
For added flavor, stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla or cinnamon.
