Protein foods help build and repair our muscles and other parts of our body.
There are animal and plant sources of protein. In addition to protein, plant sources also have fiber. Fiber acts like a broom in our bodies to help us get rid of waste.
Examples of Protein Foods:
Animal sources include beef, chicken, eggs, fish, pork, seafood, and turkey.
Plant sources include beans like black beans, pinto beans, garbanzo beans, and black-eyed peas.
Others sources include lentils, split peas, edamame, tofu, nuts and seeds and peanut butter.
