Who Wants Pizza?

WHOLE WHEAT PIZZA CRUST

My favorite way to spend time in the kitchen is baking. I enjoy making different kinds of bread and muffins. So, this month I want to share with you our Whole Wheat Pizza Crust.

The recipe involves yeast, therefore you must knead the dough and let it rise for 15 minutes before shaping, adding your toppings, and baking. I know some people are intimidated by making bread they have to knead, but I think this pizza crust is a good recipe to give it a try. Since the dough only rises for 15 minutes, you can still get dinner on the table in less than an hour.

The recipe makes 6 slices, so I usually make two pizzas to feed my family of four and then we have a couple of slices for leftovers. I use a variety of toppings depending on what I have on hand, but our favorite flavors are pepperoni and chicken, spinach, and tomato.

This recipe would be a fun one to make on Valentine’s Day and shape the dough into a heart. If you have kids, they could help you knead the dough. Just be prepared for some flour to land on the floor! Enjoy!
